Chocolate Molten Lava Cake

Chocolate dessert with an ooey-gooey centre

30 g Tararua Butter
30 g Dark Chocolate
3 T Cocoa Powder
1/8 C Flour
2.5 T Sugar
1 Egg
Extra butter and cocoa for ramekins.

  1. Preheat the oven to 220 °C
  2. Coat the inside of two moulds or ramekins with butter and cocoa powder. Dust out the excess and set aside.
  3. To make the cake, melt the butter and chocolate together over a bain marie.
  4. Mix together egg and sugar in a separate bowl, then add melted chocolate and cocoa powder. Fold in sifted flour.
  5. Pour mixture into moulds and bake 8 to 10 minutes maximum.
  6. Wait two minutes before turning over on a plate. Serve with whipped cream on side. When cut, the heart should be liquid.
