We had a blast competing in the Masterchef challenge with the team at Social Cooking. The food was great, music was pumping and the wine kept flowing. By far the best team building event in Wellington.

“We recently enjoyed an afternoon of Social Cooking’s version of Masterchef as a team-building exercise with our IT Management group. The team spent a thoroughly enjoyable few hours concocting a variety of dishes and then enjoying critiquing and sampling each other’s culinary creations. Graham made sure that the process ran smoothly and that ‘infringements’ were suitably dealt with along the way!
It was a novel and fun way for the team to work together and all dishes were eaten so none were too bad and some were very good! Putting a team of IT managers in a kitchen situation with a lack of advance knowledge is a great way to get people working together to achieve a common goal. We had a random but comprehensive range of ingredients and kitchen tools that we were given 3 minutes to review and then come up with recipes. Then it was a quick sprint to our favourite New World across the road for a few supplementary ingredients and 51 minutes left to create gourmet chaos. All teams produced the goods and had a good time along the way. As an opportunity to work together, outside the normal office environment, and get to know colleagues a bit better it was a worthwhile exercise for us. Recommended!”

I recently arranged a MasterChef night as surprise 30th birthday for my girlfriend and 20 of her friends at Social Cooking. The night was a unique and fun opportunity to compete with friends to cook a meal (of our own creation), under time constraints, to be judged by the chef and, in our case, the mother of the birthday girl. It was exciting to re-create the MasterChef challenge as seen on TV and the whole group really got into it.
I would recommend this night at Social Cooking to any group that loves food, loves a challenge and wants to do something completely different for a unique night.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you and your team for your efforts last week. There was a lot of expectation from this event, taking into consideration the short notice we gave you, I would like to congratulate your efforts for delivering a fun and top team building event.
When I met you at Social Cooking it was clear that you had a stylish cooking environment and were flexible to adapt to our needs. We took the Masterchef Challenge event and added some twists and turns. Our guys were told to go find flora and fauna to garnish their plates and I have them $10 to go rush and buy ingredients from the near by New World to supplement the mystery pantry that Social Cooking supplied. Our event was competitive, fun and high quality. The feedback was really positive and as it was run so smoothly (zero complaints) this added to the over all experience. Our guys had a stunning time, all had lots to eat and I would recommend Social cooking for their adaptability, the model they run which is inclusive, fun, dynamic and they are a safe pair of hands. Your team nailed the event and my rating is 5 out of 5.

“When we were looking for a Xmas Function venue, a friend of mine suggested Social Cooking. We were unsure about going to a cooking class but with all the interest in TV cooking shows, we decided to give it a go. From the start the detail we received on what was going to happen was clear and professional and we felt the cost per head was very reasonable. The night started with some complimentary wine, which helped settle a few cooking nerves! We needn’t have worried though, as the presentation was really relaxed but also educational in a fun and social way & overall we had a great time! We did a special Turkey Xmas recipe & the owner, Graham Bloxham, also taught a group how to cook gourmet Burgers on the BBQ. We were able to a presentation to our staff and the whole night was professionally managed. The site is right next to the Chafers Marina, so it was really relaxed and had a stunning outlook. I would not hesitate to recommend Social Cooking, as they took care of everything, & all of our staff & suppliers had a great time. They even did all the dishes & the clean up! Good work guys and I wish you all the best of luck for 2012 & the future.”
